How to restore full backups via WHM

There are two types of cPanel themes “cPanel paper_lantern” and “cPanel x3 theme”. We will describe to you how you can restore full backups in both cases.

INFO: If you have shared or you have a reseller account or you can’t restore full backups through your cPanel interface you need to connect with your host provider to do this.

Step 1

Restoring backups via “cPanel paper_lantern”. If you have VPS or dedicated server with root access, you need to go in cPanel WHM in left menu choose “Restor a Full Backup/cpmove File”. In the “Settings” section fill “Transfer Method”, “Username for the account that you wish to restore” and “when you update the A records to migrate from the origin server’s address to destination’s server address, do you wish to”:

TIP: make sure there aren’t any useful files, because this will overwrite all the existing files.

Step 2

Then click on “Restore” button.

Step 3

Restoring backups via “cPanel x3 theme”. Here are the same conditions, as are above. Here you also need to go to cPanel WHM find in menu “Restor a Full Backup/cpmove File” then fill “Enter the Username for the account you wish to restore” and “when you update the A records to migrate from the origin server’s address to destination’s server address” boxes and click on “Restore” button.

That is all!
